Are you looking for December magazine submissions 2025 to send your work to? Our quarterly literary magazine, Poems, Tales & Other English Words, is now open for poetry and art submissions for Issue #5 – the Poetry Edition.
We’re open for poetry submissions from 1 December 2025 – 1 February 2026, with a magazine publication date of 1 March 2026.
Whether you’re a new writer sending out your first poems or an experienced poet, we’d love to read your work.
About Poems, Tales & Other English Words
Poems, Tales & Other English Words is Big Thinking Publishing’s quarterly literary magazine, created to spotlight new voices in poetry, fiction, non-fiction and art from across the world.
Each issue has its own theme, and we welcome writers and artists who might otherwise be overlooked by mainstream publishing.
Every edition is available as a free digital download from our online store, with paperback copies also available. Any revenue goes straight back into making the next issue happen – with the money from some issues going to charities, such as Mermaids UK and Shelter.

Our current call for December magazine submissions 2025 is for Issue #5: the Poetry Edition.
Submissions Open: 1 December 2025 – 1 February 2026
Magazine Publication date: 1 March 2026
There is no fee to submit, and we welcome work from writers and artists in the UK and beyond.
What We’re Looking For
For the Poetry Edition of Poems, Tales & Other English Words, we are looking for:
- Poetry – all forms and genres welcome
- Art & illustration – for the cover and interior pages of the magazine
- Genre: Any
How to Submit Your Work
All magazine submissions for the Poetry Edition should be sent by email.
Send all submissions to: magsubmissions@bigthinkingpublishing.com
When you email us, please:
- Use a clear subject line like “Poetry Submission – Issue #5” or “Art Submission – Issue #5”
- Include a brief cover note with your name, pronouns (if you’d like to share them), and a short third-person bio
- Attach your poems in a readable format (for example: .doc, .docx or .pdf)
- Attach artwork as high-quality image files or share a link to your portfolio
